Privacy Policy
Last Updated: December 8, 2025
1. Introduction
MacrosVisionAI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully.
2. Information We Collect
We use a hybrid architecture to balance privacy with functionality. We collect information about you in the following ways:
Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password.
- User Content (AI Analysis): We process the images and text descriptions of food that you voluntarily provide to generate nutritional estimates.
Important Note: This content is processed by third-party AI providers. Do not include Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or health data (e.g., "I take insulin") in these fields. - Biometric Exclusion: We DO NOT collect, store, or process Biometric Identifiers (such as facial geometry or fingerprints). You are strictly prohibited from uploading images containing human faces.
Information We Collect Automatically (Server-Side Metadata)
While your detailed food logs are stored locally on your device ("Local-First"), our servers automatically collect and store specific metadata to maintain your account and the virtual economy:
- Activity Metadata: Timestamps of your interactions (e.g., "Last Active Date"), login history, and engagement streaks.
- Virtual Currency: Your current balance of "Coins" and transaction history.
- Device and Client Identifiers: We collect a unique client ID and IP address to maintain session integrity and prevent fraud. The Google Mobile Ads SDK also collects advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account, including authentication and password resets.
- Provide the core functionality of the App, primarily the AI-powered analysis of food from images and text.
- Offer rewarded advertisements through Google AdMob to provide you with in-app currency ("coins").
- Monitor and analyze usage to improve the App's performance and user experience.
- Ensure the security and integrity of our services.
4. Sharing of Your Information (and "Sale" of Data)
We are committed to transparency regarding how your data is shared. While we do not sell your personal information (such as your email or password) for direct monetary value, we engage in data sharing practices necessary to operate the App that may be defined as a "sale" or "sharing" under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or CPRA.
We share information with third parties in the following circumstances:
-
AI Service Providers (OpenRouter, Google Gemini): To provide macro analysis, the images and text you submit are sent to third-party AI model providers. We do not send your email or account credentials with this content.
Risk Note: While we strip metadata, the image itself is shared.
You can review their privacy policies here: OpenRouter Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. -
Advertising Partners (Google AdMob): We use Google AdMob to serve rewarded ads. We share device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID, IDFA) with Google.
Legal Disclosure: This exchange of data for the ability to serve ads may constitute a "sale" or "share" of personal information under applicable privacy laws. Google uses this data for personalized advertising and Cross-Device Tracking. For more details on how Google handles your data, please review Google's Advertising Policies. - International Transfers: Some of our service providers, including AI providers, may be located in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Data Privacy Frameworks where applicable to ensure adequate protection of your data during such transfers.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
5. Data Retention
We will retain your personal information (Account Metadata) for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, we will take commercially reasonable steps to delete your information from our active databases. Note that because your food logs are stored locally on your device, deleting the App or your account will permanently erase your nutritional history.
6. Your Data Rights and Choices
You have certain rights regarding the personal information we hold about you. These include the right to:
- Access and Correct Your Information: You can review and change your account information at any time within the App's settings.
- Delete Your Account: You have the right to delete your account and associated data. You can initiate this process from the "Delete Account" option within the App's settings screen. You can also make a deletion request via our Account Deletion Web Page.
- Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: You may control how your device identifier is used for advertising via your device settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
7. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS). Passwords are cryptographically hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
8. Children's Privacy (Strictly 18+)
Our Service is strictly intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete such information immediately and terminate the account.
9. Accessibility
We are committed to ensuring our App is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards where applicable to mobile applications. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
